Hello Everyone. 2021 is quickly coming to an end. This has been a year of many changes. We are slowly returning to having more events and campouts. Mr. Bennett after 16 years passed the reins of Scoutmaster to me. We changed charters from Englewood United Methodist to American Legion Post 707.
Along with the changes is some of the Leadership will be changing. Lori Sollenberger, Chris Gulliford and Tom Ellingson are taking a step back from the troop. I want to thank them for all they have done. Their advice and assistance has been very important to me with me taking on the role of Scoutmaster. We hope you all will occasionally stop by to see us.
On the note of leadership change, I would like to welcome Steven Folk to the troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster. Mr Folk is a current member of Post 707. He is an Eagle Scout as well as a former Scoutmaster from Tipp City Troop 395. He spent time as a staff ranger at Philmont. Looking forward to the experience he brings with him.
We just had our Holiday Campout which was nice after missing a year. Looking forward to Bushwhack, Advancement and Whatever campouts to return next year.
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Enjoy the upcoming holidays.
We just had a Court of Honor. I'm proud of the scouts for earning the many merit badges and having 3 scouts rank up. I am looking forward to seeing how many achievements can be accomplished by the next one.
Our next big event is the Holiday Campout on November 19th and 20th. Many of us are excited for this campout. For those that have yet to attend one, the scouts will be deep frying and smoking turkeys and hams. We are asking for parent / leaders to please donate turkeys and hams. If you are able to donate, the turkeys need to be under 12 lbs to be able to fit in the fryers and smokers. The dinner will be held at 6pm on Saturday the 20th. We hope to see all the families there. Weather permitting, we will be holding a flag retirement ceremony before the dinner and everyone is welcome to show up early to join us.
